For convenience and transparency, every METRO shopping receipt provides a detailed breakdown of each purchased item, applied discounts, and calculated taxes (VAT and excise tax).
Below is an explanation of the main sections and elements of your receipt:
1. Item Details
Item Number (Art.) and UCG FEA Code: The unique product number in the METRO system and the commodity classification code (UCG FEA / Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity) for imported or excisable goods.
Quantity and Price Excluding VAT: The purchased quantity and the unit price excluding VAT and excise tax.
Item Value: The total value of the item excluding VAT.
Discount Indicator: If a promotional or volume discount was applied, the discount amount is shown on a separate line with a minus sign (excluding VAT).
2. Totals and Discounts
Total Discounts Excluding VAT / Including VAT: The total amount you saved on all promotional items in your receipt.
Total Excluding VAT: The total value of all purchased goods before taxes are applied.
3. Tax Calculation (VAT and Excise Tax)
The receipt separately calculates tax liabilities in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine:
VAT (Codes A, G, etc.): VAT calculated at 20% (or another applicable rate) based on the value of the corresponding product categories.
Excise Tax (Code A / M): Applied to alcoholic beverages and other excisable products at a rate of 5% of the product value including VAT.
4. Total Amount Payable
Receipt Total Including VAT: The final amount due.

5. Payment Information
